Our Policy

Punctuality is of utmost importance, because lateness disrupts most of the child’s day. All children should be dropped off at school before or at 7:45am. Late comers are penalized. Pupils from Preschool to Grade 5 should be picked at 2:30pm and those in Junior High (Grade 7-9) at 3:35pm. The school must be notified if there are changes of plan concerning the persons that will be responsible for dropping off the children or picking them up from school. If a child is absent from school, parents are expected to notify the school management promptly.

On arrival at school. The school police have the right to search the bags of every pupil in case any prohibited objects have been brought to school.

All pupils are expected to be clean and in neat uniforms and shoes always. The boys: blue customized polo shirt, black or blue jeans trousers, black or grey socks and black or brown leather shoes. The girls: pink customized polo shirt, black or blue jeans skirt or trousers, white socks and black or brown leather shoes. Anyone putting on any attire other than the recommended uniform will be penalized

LCA being a school runs by Christian principles, all pupils (Grades 2-9) that come from Christian families must come to school daily with a neat and easy version Bible. If the Bible is not brought for any reason, disciplinary measures will be taken.

Parents of a child are called if:

  • the child comes to school with a contagious infection.
  • the child develops a fever or health condition in school.

The school will conduct first aid if a child sustains an injury.

Homework is an extension of what the children are focusing on in the class and it is expected that the child does it independently (parental assistance not required) for the teacher to assess the pace of mastery of topic in the child. Parents can assist if the teacher has indicated it as an instruction.

The children are given access to use them mainly in school. Only Longman Advantage Series and some selected story books (for supplementary reading) can be taken home. The children are trained to handle these books with care. Any child that manhandles any textbook and gets torn or stained, is liable to damages and parents will be asked to pay in today’s currency value. The same applies for any other school property.

Food and healthy snacks are also important part of a Lifeworder’s wellbeing. Health is first Wealth and food can either build or break the body depending on the quality and quantity of nutrients being replenished into the body. At LCA we want every Lifeworder to enjoy good health constantly, so we have prescribed the food, drinks and snacks that the children are allowed to bring to school. We allow the children to eat any of these at school:

Foods- yams (prepared in any way), sweet potatoes, rice, macaroni, spaghetti, beans, any type of protein, plantains, cassava grits, bread, custard, pap, any type of cereal, traditional meals and fruits.

Drinks-beverages (tea or chocolate drink) milk, zobo, kunu.

Snacks- chips (plantain, coconut, potato)

Children are expected to finish the food that was packed for them. No not wastage is allowed in the school, therefore parents are advised to pack a considerable quantity that the child will be able to finish. Food wastage will lead to disciplinary measures on the child.

Bullying, fighting, using vulgar language, or having inappropriate body contacts can attract summoning parents and/or suspension, depending on depth of issue.

Parents and guardians are to insist on PG Rated visual content either on television or electronic devices. The content must be both educative and entertaining, this is to maintain stability on the mental faculty of every child and fortify their mental health.
