Lifeword Christian Academy

A day in LCA

At the Lifeword Christian Academy, the day starts when a teacher on duty arrives at 7am, as she or he has to supervise the pupils when they're not in class. Pupils start arriving at about 7:15 am, drop their bags in the bags room and move off to the hall to socialize, while they wait for the Daily Word Devotion, (assembly).

At 8am, the pupils line up according to the class they belong to sing the school hymn for the year as the assembly starts. The teacher on duty leads the assembly with a teaching from the Bible shortly after the hymn. The assembly ends with a short prayer and the Nigerian National Anthem. At 8:15am, Registration commences, and all the pupils are in their respective classes. Classes commence at 8:20am with the Unit of Inquiry and at 9:15am pupils switch to Math.

By 10am the preschool children go for their first break (for 30 minutes) while the Primary school pupils go at 10:15am. The High School begins break at 10:30 am. At 10:45am pupils go back to class and when it is 12noon, they have a 15-minute break.

At 12:15 pupils go back for afternoon classes where they get engaged with board games, group discussions/centres or a weekly: – Christian Fellowship (on Mondays), Profile Chat (on Wednesdays), Children’s court session (on Thursdays). School ends at 2:30pm for primary school while secondary school closes by 3;15pm. Children get ready to go home after closing.
